Katy Perry Is A Thespian

Meet Kathy Beth Terry, an 8th grader with zero friends, braces, and happens to be smack dab in the middle of her awkward stage.

In the video above, Kathy Beth Terry explains that she’s had a facebook account for 8 months now — but hasn’t had made a friend yet. She attributes this to the “prejudice people have against works in progress.” She also happens to have the twitter bio that sounds like it was ripped straight from 1995: I’m 13 and in the 8th grade. I like Sudoku puzzles, the solar system, high-school science fairs, Skip-It, Weenie Babies and LOVE JTT! (Do her younger — as in, under 25 — fans even know who she’s talking about?)

All of this promotion — and her new character, presumably — coincides with the release of Katy Perry’s lastest video for “T.G.I.F.” The video, out next week, also happens to star the most important Friday-centric talent of all time: Rebecca Black. She makes a quick cameo in this ad for the video — as soon as you see her (she’s wearing red), you’ll have “Friday” in your head for the rest of today. It’s goddamned Pavlovian.
